Since mid-2014, my geometrically structured paintings have explored form, balance, pattern, movement, and 2/3-dimensional play. During this period, the ghost of the games continued to guide and resonate. Questions of cumulative strategy, rule, response, sequence, addressed when designing a morris board, (or playing that pleasant little game), still took me through a project from beginning to completion.

A certain nostalgia for my games caught me placing ‘men’ – floating, wandering circles and triangles – around the painting, articulating and pinning down the theme, looking for their way ‘home’.

Linked to the past, yet moving on.
