All of my practice revolves around encaustic paint, and what it can do. This is why, in 2010, I abandoned the representational, pictorial and narrative, and turned to abstraction, a genre largely unfamiliar, though exciting, to me.

Somehow even the briefest use of representation created a distraction, both for me the artist and for you the viewer, from the virtuosity of the medium, the marks, effects, surfaces and lustre which encaustic paint offers up with aplomb.
